2024 Ford F-150 Lighting: The Best Yet

Capabilities 

New Ford trucks have long been celebrated for their capabilities, and the Ford F-150 Lightning deserves similar recognition. The venerable 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is available with either a standard- or extended-range battery. Trucks with the standard-range battery produce 452 horsepower while pickups with the extended-range battery generate 580 horsepower. Torque remains at 775 lb-ft with either battery. 

With the standard-range battery, the Ford F-150 Lightning can tow up to 7,700 lbs and haul as much as 2,000 lbs. Trucks with the extended-range battery can tow up to 10,000 lbs and haul as much as 1,800 lbs when they have the appropriate equipment. 

This pickup is designed to act as a backup generator in the event a power outage occurs. A fully charged Ford F-150 Lightning can power a typical household for up to three days should the need arise. 

Trims and Packages 

When you visit our Pottstown, PA Ford dealership, you’ll notice some differences between the 2024 and 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning lineups. While trucks from both model years are part of the same generation, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning introduces a new trim. 

That new trim is the Ford F-150 Lightning Flash. This midlevel model comes with the extended-range battery option and a 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is 3.5 inches larger than the touchscreen that’s standard in 2023 models. The Ford F-150 Lightning Flash also introduces features like adaptive cruise control and BlueCruise hands-free driving as standard fare. 

For the 2024 model year, the Ford F-150 Lightning is available with a Platinum Black special edition styling package. This package includes a matte-black wrap, a darkened grille and badging, and dark wheels that measure 22 inches. The Platinum Black special edition package gives the pickup a look that’s unachievable for the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning.
